John Sterling debuted a new home run call for Giancarlo Stanton during Friday’s game between the New York Yankees and Toronto Blue Jays.
In the bottom of the third inning, Stanton sent a pitch from Marco Estrada over the wall in right field for a two-run home run. It was Stanton’s first home run since April 4, which allowed the Yankees radio voice to debut his new call. Sterling ended up singing in Italian:

“Non dimenticar, that ball sure traveled far,” Sterling sang as Stanton rounded the bases.
“Non dimenticar” means “do not forget” in Italian and is also the name of a song famously sung by Nat King Cole and Dean Martin.
Sterling, who has unique home run calls for each member of the Yankees, said he would introduce the new call earlier this month after his original call did not go over well. Sterling used the original call on Stanton’s first home run of the season.
